Abstract
The energy content of wastewater is considerable. This energy can be extracted from wastewater and made usable for heating and cooling of larger buildings. The present research project focuses on the analysis of the legal and political boundary conditions regarding the national implementation of using wastewater energy and the like. Additionally the theoretical energy potential available in Austria as well as the practicable share will be determined. At 7 sites feasibility studies will be carried out.
