Abstract
In the course of the project LIFE+ Restoration of the Lower Traisen und mouth of the river the class of amphibians will be analysed and evaluated. Among ten different species currently distributed in the Danube-Traisen-floodplain, the Danube Crested Newt (Triturus dobrogicus) is used as an umbrella species to develop measurements for habitat improvement, especially concerning the spawning sites.
