Study on small scale wastewater treatment in Europe

The overall objective of thestudy is the compilation of an overview of the situation of waste water collection and treatment in settlements with less than 2,000 inhabitants in the EU-27 Member States and the elaboration of a catalogue on the most common practices. The project is split into two tasks, which both clearly differentiate between the elaboration of a methodology to obtain the required information and the development of an agreed format in order to present the results. Data will be aquired by a structured questionnaire and a GIS based analyses to allocate wastewater disposal systems to the settlements of less than 2000 inhabitants.
