reclip:century2 - transient regional climate simulations for Austria and the entire Alps till 2100
Abstract
The climate impact research requires detailed and regional climate scenarios. For now these are not available appropriately enough for Austria. The objective of this project is to provide an ensemble of regionalised climate scenarios (by 2050) for Austria, including sufficient information to assess the results’ uncertainties. The model runs are based on the GCM ECHAM5/IMP-OM and one Alternative-GCM. The Alternative-GCM is strongly sensitive towards a GHG-Increase. The applied RCMs are CLM and MM5. For all model runs the GHG-scenarios A1B and B1 come into use. This project is carried out by the ARC Research System together with the Institute of Meteorology (University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna), Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change (University of Graz) and the Austrian Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics.
