Meteorological Part: Supervision of Ice Drop from Wind Energy Facilities
- Wasser - Atmosphäre - Umwelt
Abstract
To evaluate the risk of falling ice of wind energy plants an adequate data base concerning transport range, shape, weight, and density of the ice pieces is necessary, taking the constraction height and the meteorological conditions into account. Therefore, climatological analyses of the frequency of occurness of freezing using meteorlogical observations, station and spatially gridded data, for eastern Austria will be carried out. Additionally, operational forecast of days with freezing conditions for three selected sites will be done.
