Abstract
Semmering Railway was built in the years 1848-54. In 1999 the Railway together with the surrounding landscape was listed by the UNESCO as a world heritage site. The prosper development of the world heritage area is the goal of the project “Welterbe Semmeringbahn. Vision 2029” which follows an initiative of the Friends of the Southern Railway (Freunde der Südbahn), under the direction of Dr. Günter Dinhobl and Dr. Birgit Haehnel. At the Institute of Landscape Architecture projects are being developed as contributions to a long-term development of the region. The project will be presented to the advisory board and then discussed. The projects will be exhibited at the Southern Railway Museum (Südbahnmuseum) in Mürzzuschlag public.
