TherChem - Thermocemical pre-treatment technology for residues from breweries and other biomass to enhance anaerobic digestion
Abstract
The aim of the project is to develop a process to enhance the digestability of brewery residues. The higher biogas yield will be realised by increased bioavailability of the hard degradable components of the lignocellulosecomplex. By using a specific catalysator higher gas yield can occur. This catalyst will be recycled by microbiological processes. The process also should base on the following criteria: low energy demand and low temperature level (depending on the existing infrastructure of the brewery). In further tests other hard degradable substances for biogas production will be tested.
