Abstract
I) description of problem areas concerning sediment transport and river moprhology in Austria II) need of research list and description III) priority list concerning need of research IV) definition of work tasks for phase II The National River Basin Management Plan (Chapter 6) intends to promote new research studies on sediment transport and sediment continuity. Cooperation with relevant stakeholders concerning the interrelation between sediment transport and river ecology is intended (BMLFUW-UW.4.1.2/0011-I/4/2010). - analysis of problems and challenges concerning sediment transport and river morphology in Austria - need of further research concerning sediment transport and river moprhology based on the problem analysis - priority list of necessary research fields - definititon of research topics of phase II
