Abstract
The fines fraction in the production of paper consists of fibre fragments too short for papermaking. Fines will be characterised and converted into nanocellulose. The suitability of papermaking fines and nanocellulose produced thereof will be studied with regard to the reinforcement of polymers. The overall aim of the project is to finde new ways for generating added value from a fibre fraction which is little used to date.
