Research Focus
Development of resource-efficient wood-based products and engineered wood products including manufacturing technologies for load-bearing construction applications based on traditional and upcoming raw material streams.
From fundamentals to the application of adhesives, adhesive compounds and associated technologies for wood applications, with focus on formaldehyde-reduced, formaldehyde-free or bio-based binders and their functional mechanisms including functionalized adhesives.
Basic structure-property relationships of wood, wood-based materials and functionalized wood materials and their components using advanced methods from the macroscopic to the nano-scalar level.
