Research Focus
My research combines analytical food chemistry, metabolomics and data-driven modelling to investigate quality, stability and bioactive compounds in plant-based food and fruit systems. Methodological expertise includes LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, NIR/FTIR spectroscopy, chemometrics and machine-learning approaches. Previous work focused on the characterization of polyphenols, lipid oxidation products and fatty acid profiles in plant oils, as well as the development of rapid prediction models for food quality and shelf-life. At BOKU, my research focuses on integrating analytical, sensor-based and image-derived data to assess fruit quality, plant stress and sustainable production systems in viticulture and pomology.
