Research Focus
The Engineered Wood and Wood Hybrids working group focuses on the use of wood-based materials for high-performance and load-bearing applications in plant, machine and vehicle construction. Wood and other bio-based materials are combined with other materials and built into multi-material structures. In addition to BOKU, the working group is integrated into a strong, interdisciplinary research team from the mobility sector and the wood industry with experts from the fields of mechanical engineering, material sciences, simulation, vehicle and manufacturing technology, as well as life cycle assessment.
