- Goal: The Goal of this work is to evaluate the present administration of enviromental planning procedure, the so called "Landschafts- pflegerische Begleitplan" in Tirol. With the help of these evaluation results, criteria were est- ablished concerning the methodics and contents of the "Landschafts- pflegerische Begleitplan". Besides this focal point, statements are made regarding leagal improvments, and suggestions for superior planning procedures are discussed with regard to en- suring a more efficient implementation of the "Landschafts- pflegerische Begleitplan". Resultes. At the present moment the "Landschaftspflegerische Begleitplan" is still showing obvious weaknesses that can be attributed to in- adequate legislation and missing criteria concerning the methodics and contents of the "Landschaftspflegerische Begleitplan". Many conflicts can arise, from vague procedures for the applicants who may lack knowledge of official proceedings, to missing rules for planners and relevant authorities. There is no ecological visit and the administration is not controlled well enough. Many pro- jects are thus changed by the applicants themselves after a few years. As far as the contents and the implementation of this planning instrument are concerned, there are many different opinions among planners and also relevant authorities which hinders uniform administration throughout Tirol. This somtimes leads to results which do not meet enviromental protection demands. In the course of the moderation, criteria were acquired concern- ing the methodics and contents of this planning instrument that are applied in Tirol as commonly binding guide lines.
