Abstract:
Site-, soil and vegetation relevees from the Austrian Forest Soil Monitoring System have been used to describe the range of occurrence of regeneration of Abies alba, Picea abies, Acer pseudoplatanus, Fagus sylvatica und Quercus sp. with regard to selected site characteristics. Descriptive statistics, a preference index as well as logistic regression models have been chosen as methods of analysis. The results were compared with bibliographical references on the realised and the fundamental niche of tree species.
