Klaus Schachenhofer (2007): Analyse plenterartig bewirtschafteter Bauernwälder im Mühlviertel.
Master / Diploma Thesis, BOKU-Universität für Bodenkultur, pp 135. UB BOKU obvsg

Data Source: ZID Abstracts
In this diploma analysis eight uneven-aged structured forest stands in the upper and lower region of the Mühlviertel are analysed. Different stand structural parameters are described and analysed. The results are compared and discussed to the literature (Köstler 1956; Schütz 2001). Within the upper region of the Mühlviertel beech-fir-spruce stands are common, whereas fir-spruce-beech forest stands are dominating in the lower region. The growing stock of the experimental pots ranges between 401 and 518 Vfm/ha and the basal area between 32 and 42 m²/ha. The average stem number differs between 388 and 683 N/ha (upper region) and 410 and 482 N/ha (lower region). It can be stated, that the analysed structural parameters of the experimental plots are within described approaches of the literature. Stands oriented recommendations are deduced for further silvilcultural management.
