Abstract:
The standards guidelines ONR 24800 - 24810 provides the basics for the field of natural hazards to ensure a most unified and comprehensible application of state of the art methods and tools, and the development of measures to protect against natural hazards. For natural hazards resulting from the process of rockfall, the ONR 24810. Technical rockfall protection - concepts, actions, design and engineering, monitoring and maintenance, is of paramount importance. A specific project example illustrates the application of the ONR 24810 in the development of measures against rockfall. The work highlights the project-specific limitations in the project area and compares them to the respective solution approaches that are part of a comprehensive, coordinated set of methods. An important part of this package of measures is the implementation of a large-scale rockfall experiment in the project area. The planning and orientation in the geographical area as well as applied methods of data evaluation are contents of this thesis. It also depicts how the evaluated data are used to determine soil and roughness parameters in the course of the rockfall simulations to be carried out. Finally, the steps are portrayed on how the calibration of the 3D rockfall simulations could be calibrated on the basis of the fall test and verified by means of the results of performed event documentation in the field.
