Abstract:
A slope in the Vorderer Bregenzerwald (Village Sibratsgfäll, District Bezau) was investigated, which was affected by a devastating hydrologically and geologically influenced landslide in the year 1999. By means of four special indicator species and a vegetation map the conditions of the underground and the most active zones in a part of the slope were described. As a second focal point drilling cores of influenced trees were taken and measured dendrochronologically. The formation of pressure wood was taken as an indicator of movements of the trees. Thus the dynamics of movements even before the landslide in 1999 were revealed. Furthermore, some ideas were presented how to reduce the risk of a new landslide in future by changing the vegetation.
