Abstract:
Water resource management in lake Neusiedl becomes more and more important. Due to various reasons such as agriculture, fishery and tourism the source water has to be managed efficiently. To do so, a new geodetic survey of the lake Neusiedl system was set up. This thesis as a part of this project describes the adaption of a Penetrologger system to measure the Neusiedlersee lake bottom as well as hard mud layers. For this reason the existing measurement system was reduced to its basics. By combining the force measurement sensor with a GPS- system, location accuracy of about 2 cm was established. Even dynamic measurement is possible with this system. The analog display was added to get an overview of impact force during the measurement. Also new poles with a bigger diameter and longer extension were produced to reduce bending during the measurement. All important measurement tools were stored in a field box, which was build for that reason. Calibration of the new measurement system was done successfully and measurements in the field gave hugely satisfying results. As a result the new system is ready to be used in fieldwork.
