This diploma thesis examines the analysis of different methods of manhole inspection, in terms of coverage rate and accuracy of the description. The one-site invastigations with the manhole-zoom camera have been carried out in the course of the INNOKANIS project, within the sewer networks of six wastewater utilities and the city of Salzburg. In total 139 videos of manhole inspections were made. Subsequently, the surveys were entered into an Access database and the various methods tested regarding detection rate and accuracy. The accuracy of the method used by the various sewer operators was then evaluated and compared. In summary, it can be concluded from this work that the advantage of the manhole-zoom camera is without doubt in the recognition rate of the structural conditions Even as the result was distorted in favor of the shaft-zoom camera, a lot of potential can be found especially in the area of the manhole structure to increase the accuracy of the detection. Although the camera additional costs, it is worth especially within the manhole structure. An addition value is given by the possibility to inspect the sewer reach as well by the shaft-zoom camera.
