Abstract:: Within the last decades there has been a sharp increase in the quantity of electrical equipment that has been put on the market. Since these devices have to be disposed at the end of its life or otherwise treated the issue of the treatment of these devices plays an important role. With this work, a systematic overview of the procedures and methods under development for the treatment of WEEE will be given. Based on a literature review each technology will be described and then evaluated by means of technology portfolio analysis. Afterwards the innovation system of sorting technologies is considered in more detail. From the results conclusions about the current state and the possible development of innovations are drawn for the treatment of WEEE, and recommendations for the implementation of a technology portfolio analysis in this area will be given.; Beurteilende(r): Salhofer Stefan Petrus; 1.Mitwirkender: Beigl Peter
