Abstract:: Against the background of a currently developed ISO-standard for Chain-of-Custody-certification the necessity of this standard was evaluated. To intensify the knowledge of this topic a content-based comparison of the established system from FSC and PEFC with the ISO-standard should be carried out. Literature research and expert interviews are used as source for the work. All three of the discussed systems consist of the same five basic elements. The necessary effort for a company is driven by its size, the origin of raw material and the markets to serve.
