- Abstract:
- Organic farming and in particular organic arable farming has gained increasing importance in Austria. Especially in organic farms, the best possible combination of the limited available production factors is indispensable for the achievement of an adequate income. Therefore, this thesis attempts to develop an application-oriented flexible planning model for crop rotation and nutrient planning, which serves as a decision support in production planning. Based on the linear planning calculation and under simultaneous consideration of biological laws, agricultural policy conditions and the influence of price and cost changes, a model is designed which provides data and key figures for entrepreneurial decisions. After the conception of the model, it will be evaluated using the example of a fictitious cattle-free crop farm. In order to document the flexibility of the model, a scenario analysis is carried out. Within the framework of six different scenarios, variables were changed in the model and their effects on the calculation results were investigated and described. The results show that in organic farming complex interactions between the production processes have to be considered. As can be expected, changes in economic and agricultural policy conditions lead to adaptation measures both in crop rotation and in production intensity.
