Since the beginning of 2017 the association “E-Mobil” provides a demand responsive transport option in the municipalities of Pressbaum and Tullnerbach. This service allows the inhabitants of named municipalities, as long as they pay a monthly or yearly fee to the association, to order one of the associantion´s cars, including a driver, to take them from a location inside of Pressbaum or Tullnerbach to a destination in said municipalities. The organisation recently received a digital upgrade, from which on the previous travel books got replaced by an app which is available on the drivers’ phones and tablets. This master’s thesis aims at characterizing the properties of said association as well as the habits of its users. It also takes on evaluating the social, ecological and economic impact of this alternative method of mobility. The digital travel book of 2019 and some questionnaires have been used to collect the necessary data. It is possible to say, that the associations’ cars are mostly used by elderly women in order to make their ways to the grocery stores or to the doctor. Another major group of users are pupils on their way to school. Middle aged people going to work rarely use the E-Mobil. It is also not a very popular means of transportation when it comes to reaching spare time activities. Nevertheless the cars do prove to be a fairly cheap and ecological means of transportation, since they run on certified green energy and cause nearly no greenhouse gas emissions. Therefor it can be said that the “E-Mobil” appears to be a sustainable alternative means of transport that allows its users to comfortly reach their desired destination without the flaw of harming the environment.
