Abstract:
The digitalization of individual work processes or even entire business models, that is currently taking place has an enormous impact on the everyday working lifes of employees. Additionally, massive changes in demographics and consumer behavior in Germany will pose a major challenge to the competitiveness of German wineries in the years to come. Therefore, this master’s thesis aims to determine the current working situation and organization as well as the distribution and usage of web-based work systems in German wineries. Conclusively, this begs the question to which extent web-based work systems influence the working situation and organization of respondents. To answer the research questions, a telephone survey was conducted in which both quantitative and qualitative data was collected on the working conditions of the respondents and their use of web-based work systems. The results showed that the working conditions of the respondents, with an average of 69.7 % of the achievable points in the survey, were predominantly described as good, despite various challenges in everyday work. Web-based work systems are already widespread, with an average of 5,9 applications per respondent, and were mainly used in the areas of data processing, communication and calendaring. These applications were predominantly graded as good to very good. The influence of web-based work systems both in terms of working conditions, especially in the form of empowerment, and the improvement of the winery's key performance indicators was also predominantly rated positively, and the use of the applications was thus considered sensible. Future research could follow up on prospective developments in this area. Furthermore, an extended company analysis before and after the introduction of web-based work systems would be interesting.
