- Abstract:
- Decreasing biodiversity and climate change are current challenges for politics and society. The desire of people "Rescue the Bee" was introduced in Baden Württemberg to generate a sustained and enviromentally friendly agriculture and protect the biodiversity. This masterthesis gives an overview of alternative viticulturals practices, to reduce chemical-synthetical pesticides. With an online survey and interviews by telephone, crop protection counselors from Germany were asked to give advice about possible alternative methods, support programmes, forecast models and eco-viticulture as possiblites to reduce pesticides. The surveys have shown that alternative methods like canopy management were allready used by the majority of the winegrowers. Support programmes would be followed by a lot of bureaucracy and would not be accessible for small sidejob winegrowers. Forecast models would be used mothly by the winegrows but had flaws with the accuracy of evidence. The eco-viticulure in order to reduce pesticides could not be recommended in years with difficult weather conditions because of the restricted range of pesticides and the high amount of necessary vehicle crossings and could lead to crop loss in the worst case. Fungi-resistant varieties could be a good solution in the traditional and also eco-viticulture in order to reduce pesticides. These not as known varieties would have to get more public awareness to win the aceptance of customers.
