Abstract:

In the context of this thesis a hydraulic model with a mobile bed was built. The experiments aimed to defining the final form of a bedload trap and a new bypassing river section which will be constructed in the river Lech near Reutte/Tyrol. The goal of the new river system is to concentrate the major part of the transported deposit in the area of the bedload trap. In a number of different instationary experiments water levels of the Lech were analised to proof the functioning of the determined trap configuration. In addition the flow velocities were measured through video taping the transportation of markings on the water surface. The determined velocities widely corresponded to the results of numerical modelling. With the results of another series of experiments the deposition pattern in the area of the trap was described.
