Abstract:
This diploma work is in the context of a project investigating the effect of agronomic practices on the habitat of larks, hares, partridges and quails. The effect of different lucerne cutting regimes on yield and nitrogen fixation rate was determined at Raasdorf. The first cutting date of the nature conservation varient was two weeks earlier, the second cutting date was two weeks later than usual. On farmers¿ fields in Lassee, it was tested if the weed density was increased due to a longer growth period between the two cutting dates. The total DM-yield in the nature conservation variant was significantly lower than in the usual treatment. The total N2-fixiation showed no significant differences, but there was a trend indicating a decrease in the nature conservation variant. The nitrogen derived from atmosphere (% Ndfa) did not differ between the two variants. The earlier first cutting date and the later second cutting date did not affect the weed density.
