Abstract:

This thesis investigates the change from a collection scheme for light weight packaging to a combined colleciton of plastic-bottles and metal-packaging in the Abfallwirtschaftsverband Schwechat (association for waste management of Schwechat). Therefore at 103 households interviews were held and at 46 households a sorting-analysis of the lightpacking was done to evaluate the consequence of the change of the collection scheme to the waste disposal behaviour of the population. The results of the sorting-analysis and the interviews demonstrate that 75% use the new collection scheme. 82% of the interviewee said that they know the reason for the collection change. 78% said that the actual volume of their residual waste skips is large enough. In spite of the change waste seperation is important for 95% of the interwiee.
