Abstract:

Nitrogen is one of the limiting factors in organic agriculture. In the pannonian climatic region water is also a limiting factor. This diploma thesis presents the influence ploughing up alfalfa at different stages on these limiting factors. The effect of different dates of ploughing up on winter wheat as the succeeding crop is also assessed. Data were collected without exception in the year of harvest of 2006. Due to the exceptional climatic conditions no statements can be made concerning the effect the time of ploughing on winter wheat as the succeeding crop. The nitrogen content of the soil was conspicuously lower where the ploughing up took place earlier. Opposing to that the content of soil water was higher where the ploughing up took place earlier. This resulted in a positive tendency in yield. The results only refer to the year of 2006. There was no research made on any influences on following harvests.
