To make costs and time consumption of harvester operations predictable productivity models are developed. They mainly were made from time study data up to now. The benefit of an automatic data recording is that a huge amount of data can be collected cheap and accurate. The aim was to develop a productivity and fuel consumption model with the automatically collected data for the harvester John Deere 1270 E, to find the relevant parameters on productivity and to show the breakdown of working time. The analysis showed that 39% of working time is used for driving and catching, 36% for stem processing and 25% is used for breaks and servicing. The stem diameter and the grade of thinning do have the main influence on productivity. A 22 percent difference in productivity between thinning and clear cutting could be detected. The average productivity was 29,2 m3/PSH0 (in bark). The mean diameter was 20,8 cm, the mean volume 0,42 m3 and the mean processing time for all processes per tree was 48,1 seconds. The mean fuel consumption is 18,6 l/PSH0 (0,627 l/m3). The calculation of the system costs led to 158,48 €/PSH15 or 7,34 €/m3.
