Abstract:
Extensive knowledge of operational framework conditions and a strong vision of future requirements are the basis on which sustainable economic and ecological corporate development is based. The design of the process management system is therefore of importance. As a research subject, it was questioned what positive effects resource-oriented process management can have on operational energy- and environmental management. One problem was to develop a methodology based on available research results, which mostly deal with management system implementation and the expansion of process management approaches. The methodology should be able to comprehensively assess the maturity of the operational framework. After identifying the inhomogeneous starting point, the aim was to make changes in the management system that would have synergetic effects on the process work. For this purpose, the thesis was put forward that it is possible to achieve positive effects in relation to energy- and environmentally relevant system components by means of targeted, step-by-step implementation of resource-oriented approaches in existing operational process design. The methodological implementation of the project was based on five recognized components of the macro levels of companies. In order to satisfy the specific operational needs of the companies examined, possible starting points for resource-oriented approaches in process design are identified. Finally, changes were achieved that improve the process design of the target companies. It was shown that excellence in process management influences the understanding of causal relationships so positively that it can serve as a central tool for corporate management to enable sustainable success in energy- and environmental management. With the derivation of general recommendations, knowledge could be gained despite existing inequalities, which emerge as general recommendations from the research work.
