Abstract:
This thesis deals with two APV test systems with semitransparent photovoltaic modules on greenhouses of commercially active horticultural businesses in southern Vienna. The aim of the experiments was to evaluate the practical suitability of an APV concept for implementation on existing greenhouses with a low module area density. The effects of the module-related shading on the fresh mass yield and the number of cucumbers were examined at farm1 with a degree of module coverage of 6.0 %. By weighing and counting the harvested cucumbers separately, no significant difference between the test and reference areas could be found. The electrical yields of the photovoltaic systems as well as the consumption of the operating resources were measured for both farms and potentials for increasing self-consumption were determined. The expected electrical yields of the photovoltaic systems based on simulations could be generated. In Operation1, the share of self-consumption at 61.0% and the degree of self-sufficiency at 33.0% were well above the standard values for households. In farm1, 4.3 % of the total electrical consumption was determined to be potentially optimizable, in farm2 12.6 %. In both farms, these were identified primarily on the side of charging processes for electric vehicle batteries and the use of intelligent electronic energy management systems to shift the charging loads. Finally, the considered APV concept could be found to be practicable in the operational context.
