In a one year field trial at the Agricultural sciences University¿s Agricultural Experimental Station in Groß-Enzersdorf the influence of nitrogen stabilized fertilizers on the sowing as subsoil fertilizers was carried out in comparison with other nitrogen fertilizers (12 in total) on the corn yield and predetermined quality parameters during the summer durum. The Groß-Enzersdorf location is representative of the pannonian production area. The evaluation of the various nitrogen fertilizer procedures took place under two various sowing systems. The results were influenced by the particular weather conditions in 2001 (dry period). Between the two sowing systems there were only differences in the deposit depth. Emergence was not influenced. However, there were clear differences in the corn yield. The nitrogen fertilizers which were applied in full and at the beginning of the sowing period (with nitrogen stabilizer) produced a lower yield in comparison with the location¿s usual multiple fertilization procedure. As expected the thousand seed weight and the hectoliter weight with these nitrogen stabilized fertilizers were less. In contrast, the protein content and the vitrousness showed higher values. The straw yield and the corn yield are almost equal. From the used nitrogen stabilized fertilizers higher nitrogen content values from the straw were obtained. Concerning the carbohydrate content, there were no changes in their values.
