Abstract:
Agricultural engineering processes become more efficient through the combination of operations carried out originally seperatet. In planting potatoes this development startet since the mid-1990s. In this one-year research the separate performing of soil preparation and planting the potatoes is compared to a combined system. In both cases the labour requirement studies are made on the basis of the partial time method. The fuel consumption was measured in field trials and the costs of machinery were calculated. Additional there were test areas designed to examine several parameters of tuber quality and plant production. In the case of labour requirements a considerable reduction potential was identified and confirmed the combination of working operations as an efficient measure to increase labor productivity in planting potatoes. If the focus is on powerful field task the system of successive performing has little advantages. In model calculations the influence of the fieldform to labour requirements was elaborated and further possibilities to reduce working time and their effects on the particular time periods were examined. From this study follows moreover, that on the way of combining processes savings can be realised in fuel consumption as well as in the cost of machinery. No clear advantage to one of the processes is provided by the observed parameters of tuber quality and plant production.
