Research Focus

My research interests revolve around the multifaceted relationship between humans and nature. As a social ecologist, I am particularly interested in issues of environmental and social justice in nature conservation, the social acceptability of conservation measures such as rewilding, landscape perception, and socio-cultural values of ecosystem services. My most recent research explores the concept of rewilding in urban contexts, looking at its potential and social implications.

I usually adopt an interdisciplinary and multi-methodological approach using qualitative interviews, questionnaire surveys, and GIS-based mapping to translate information about people's perceptions and values into tools for landscape planning and management.
