Finanzierung zukunftsicherer lokaler Bioenergieketten

Abstract
Local bioenergy projects in Europe entering their 2nd phase are challenged to secure solid biomass supplies in the long term without increasing competition to other land uses or their impact on the environment. SecureChain targets complementary European regions where bioenergy is already well established, yet where major resources from dominant land uses agriculture and forestry remain still unused and represent a low conflict potential in land or industrial use. Mobilisation of these locally available resources is a major opportunity to upgrade existing and new supply chains with more standardised, synergetic uses of biomass, collaborative supply chain management and environmental impact assessment to finally boost market uptake of most efficient, adapted, readily operational bioenergy technologies and systems. The project promotes a Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) that meets highest environmental quality standards and targets local biomass suppliers, energy producers and financial sector players to mobilise more biomass and maximise the share of sustainable bioenergy in the final energy consumption of six European model regions.
