Abstract
RELOCATE2016-2018 focuses on a highly effective, though rarely considered adaptive response to climate-induced hazards: planned relocation. The project assesses the factors that drive households to relocate, and which social, spatial and economic impacts may be expected. The relocations in the Machland region and the Eferding Basin are a unique chance to gain empirical insights how this measure evolves over time. Besides contributing to research in risk reduction, the project condenses findings into a guidebook to facilitates future relocations in other regions in Austria.
