Counting of mountain bikers in Weidlingbach
- Lebensraum und Landschaft
Abstract
In summer 2016, the first trailarea in the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve opened. In this project, we will collect information about user intensity and temporal patterns of mountainbikers using visitor counting devices. In a previous monitoring project, we conducted countings for the period beforethe opening of the trailpark. Thus, changes in temporal patterns can be identified. Countings take place at both trails of the trailarea as well as at trails in the surroundings of the trailarea. The generated information is useful for visitor management as well as for the possible establishment of additional trailareas.
