Monitoring in Torrent catchment areas

The Institute of Mountain Risk Engineering runs monitoring stations in Alpine torrent catchments, where flood and debris flow events occurred in the past and are expected to occur in the future. Beside of instrumentation and video-recordings in relevant channel reaches, weather stations are important data - sources for forecasting and analysis of torrential events.
