Luggye Tsho outburst flood mitigation project Lunana, Bhutan
Abstract
The prediction of geo-hazards and the assessment of single geo-risks in the Luggye Tsho areas is based on risk engineering methods as stability calculations of morainic dams and flood wave / dam breach computer simulations. The impact of a future glacial lake outburst on the environment is assessed and recommendations for mitigation measures are given by calculating a worst case scenario of a possible new outburst flood from Luggye Tsho.
