Abstract
Main objective is to evaluate the possible mitigation of swelling and shrinking in soils (e.g. under foundations). This task is split in two parts: soil physical and geo-technical considerations, hence two research institutions are involved. For soil physics the "Universität für Bodenkultur Wien (BOKU), Institut für Hydraulik und landeskulturelle Wasserwirtschaft" and the geo-technical investigations are performed by "LIRIGM - Géologie et Méchanique, Université Joseph Fourier de Grenoble".
