Flexible methodological framework to include sustainable development imperatives into urban water decision-making systems
Abstract
The project is designed to incorporate socio-cultural perspectives, cross¿cultural urban/rural interactions and legal/institutional issues that have been masked, into urban water management, by developing an interactive framework for their identification and quantification within a UK context. Further the project aims at developing, integrating and synthesising existing approaches to present a holistic framework that can be applied across national and cultural boundaries, through selected international collaboration. Finally, it will elucidate the interactions between the evaluation of technological and technocratic choices, stakeholder and institutions under varying conditions to identify ¿hard¿ and ¿soft¿ opportunities and constraints on decision-making systems as well as their social, political and economic consequences and then to propose options for addressing these constraints and opportunities
