Abstract

The estuary of the Traisen river shall be ameliorated ecologically and offer new habitats for endangered animal and plant species (FFH Appendix I, IV). A monitoring of the spread of invasive plant species shall be effected during the construction phase. The existing neophyte stock will be recorded and mapped in the preparatory first project phase. Measures to control and reduce invasive species shall be developed in the course of the project. In parallel, all red list plant species will be mapped and sampled in order to store them ex-situ in the BOKU-gene bank of Austrian endangered plant species. The 2nd part of the Project will analyse the preparation of the construction phase.
