Metabolomics of plants and microorganisms
Abstract
Metabolomics aims at investigating how biological phenotypes (visible as the set of metabolites) are influenced by defined biotic and abiotic perturbations. We are developing improved metabolomics methods with the aim of studying the metabolism of microorganisms and plants and their interactions. In doing so, we aim to contribute to an improved understanding of plant diseases and beneficial biological interactions. To achieve these goals, we maintain close interdisciplinary collaboration with partners from bioinformatics, molecular biology or microbiology and plant sciences.
