Abstract
1 The problem Electromobility is an oncoming trend. E-scooters and pedelecs will be seen in ever increasing numbers on Austrian streets. For 2015 sales prognoses name 75,000 sold e-bikes per year. Electric supported mobility, however bears also certain risks: Acceleration rates are high from standstill and average driving speeds are higher than with normal bicycles. Coexistence with other road users can result in potentially more conflicts and higher accident risks. 2 Objectives and 3 practical steps The dynamic characteristics of e-bikes will be investigated in SEEKING. In practical driving trials participants will be observed and interviewed on their personal experiences. Potential conflicts will be foreseen and measures established to prevent accidents and to improve safety of e-bike use.
