Hot in the city - the influence of heat days on the recreation activities of Viennese citizens

The aim of the study is to work out the basics for proper management strategies for the urban green areas as well as the protection areas relevant for nature conservation in the surroundings of Vienna. Temporal and spatial changes of behaviour of the Viennese people are analysed, which occur in reaction to the strains caused by longer periods of summer days, hot days, heat waves and tropical nights.
