Abstract
Crucial factors for sustainable indoor greenery are the assortment of plant species, maintenance and soil. Currently diverse mineral and organic soil products for indoor greenery are offered on the market. This research shall clarify whether four new mineral soils with different grain-size distribution in comparison to standard soils are suitable for indoor greenery. Specific plant species will be used as indicator (drought, humidity, nutrition) to infer the chemical and physical properties of the materials, the effect of the materials on plant growing and the fertilizer performance of the materials. The aim of this research is to evaluate the suitability of these new materials as soil for indoor greenery and to initialize a new market for the partner.
