Abstract
Das Ziel dieses Forschungsprojektes liegt in der Entwicklung einer Technologiebasis beruhend auf kristallinen bakteriellen S-Schichtenproteinen (S-Schichten) zur Herstellung geordneter Strukturen von metallischen Nanopartikeln und Bürsten von Kohlenstoff-Nanoröhren. Wir wollen hier gezielt die Fähigkeit von S-Schichtproteinen zur Ausbildung geordneter Monoschichten auf festen Trägern mit den neuartigen elektronischen und optischen Eigenschaften dieser funktionellen Nanomaterialien kombinieren. Nachdem die Nutzung der extremen Eigenschaften von Nanoröhren bislang an der Herstellung geordneter Strukturen gescheitert ist, wollen wir das Wachstum von Kohlenstoff-Bürsten durch regelmäßig gebundene metallische nanometergroße Katalysatorteilchen induzieren. Die Verwendung einer regelmäßigen Proteinschicht zur Herstellung geordneter Strukturen aus Nanopartikeln oder Kohlenstoff-Nanoröhren ist wissenschaftlich völlig neu. Nach letztem Stand der Technik haben konventionelle Methoden im Vergleich zur S-Schichttechnologie nicht die Vielfalt an Möglichkeiten in der Herstellung dieser Strukturen.
