Abstract
The project is aimed at analysing urban forest policy-making processes and their outcome in Vienna, which is part of a comparative European study. Literature research and focussed qualitative interviews with Vienna¿s urban forest policy actors are the research methodology applied. The study should shed light on the actors involved in urban forest policy-making and their respective influence, policy outcome and translation into urban forest management, social conflicts involving urban forests. 'Urban forests' are defined as forests in, next to or near a specific urban area of which the decision-making process on forest management is dominated by local urban actors and their objectives.
