Green Facade FW 19: Evaluation of a building greenery for reducing summerly heat stress at the fire station Wien Döbling
Abstract
At the Vienna Döbling fire station, the microclimatic performance on the indoor climate of new building greening systems is surveyed. The following research questions are answered: Research question 1: What is the effect of the greening on the microclimatic conditions in the first and second vegetation period after the installation of the greening? Research question 2: Are differences measurable in terms of indoor climate and thermal comfort between the north-facing indoor spaces and the reference spaces on the south side of the building? Research question 3: What is the relationship between the development of the vegetation in the plant troughs (growth heights, coverage, LAI, LAD, vitality) and the microclimatic patterns of the interior spaces? The result should be an assessment of the vegetation structure and the micro-climatic and vegetation relationships. The analyses are to be published scientifically.
